SNOWSHOE TOURS

quiet forests, open ridgelines, Switzerland in winter light

Stay in AirBnBs and Hotels

Snowshoe Tours bring us into Switzerland’s winter calm through a small selection of handpicked day trips. With a local guide and light packs, we move through quiet forests, open ridgelines, and winter light — sometimes breaking trail in fresh snow, sometimes following hidden paths where the world feels paused.

Depending on conditions, we choose the best route for the day: from reliable, snow-safe areas like Melchsee-Frutt or Flumserberg to quieter corners around Schwarzsee or the Sieben Hengste above Lake Thun.
Each tour is shaped by what winter gives us — the snowpack, the weather, and the mood of the mountains. This is not about chasing summits. It’s about being out there, moving steadily, and ending the day with that calm tiredness you only get in the snow.

Day 1

We meet at Dalaman Airport at 9:00 AM and transfer together to Fethiye. After a warm welcome and a small aperitif at the ancient ruins of Telmessos, we officially start our adventure. Our first hike along the Lycian Way offers stunning coastal views and passes through small local villages. We end the day in Faralya, staying at a cozy guesthouse with breathtaking views over Butterfly Valley. 13.1 km, 590m ascent, 590m descent, approx. 4-5h hiking

Day 2

After a rich Turkish breakfast on the terrace, we drive towards Sydima. Here, ancient ruins blend naturally with village life, offering lots to explore. Our trail then climbs over a ridge with wide Mediterranean views and leads back to the coast. The day ends at a charming seaside guesthouse – perfect for a refreshing swim.
13.1 km, 450m ascent, 950m descent, approx. 4-5h hiking

Day 3 Today is a cultural day. We leave our hiking boots in the van and visit Xanthos, the ancient Lycian capital. Later we explore Patara, once an important harbor city. Our picnic is surrounded by Roman ruins. In the afternoon, there’s time to relax or swim at Patara's long sandy beach. In the evening, we continue to the lively coastal town of Kaş. (Sightseeing and light walking, no significant elevation gain) Day 4 Today's hike starts near Kaş and follows the rocky coastline. The landscape becomes rougher, with karst formations, gorse, and hidden turquoise bays. We swim along the way before climbing to Ali's Guesthouse, a simple and welcoming place high up in the hills. A homemade Turkish dinner awaits us in the evening. 15.3 km, 720m ascent, 430m descent, approx. 6-7h hiking Day 5 This day is packed with highlights: we walk along the coastal trail, explore the forgotten city of Aperlae, and discover remote coves and ancient paths. Our journey leads us to Üçağız, a quiet fishing village rich in history. In the evening, we take a boat to Simena/Kale, climb the old fortress, and enjoy a traditional dinner right by the waterfront. 14.9 km, 276m ascent, 490m descent, approx. 4.5-5.5h hiking Day 6 The morning begins with a boat ride past the sunken ruins around Kekova Island, ending at the ancient harbor of Andriake. We then visit the rock tombs and amphitheater of Myra before heading to Olympos. The afternoon is free for relaxing at the beach or exploring the ancient ruins. In the evening, we hike to Mount Chimaera, where natural flames have burned for thousands of years. We grill a simple dinner over the open fires under the stars. (light activities, approx. 1h evening walk) Day 7 On our final day, we ride the Olympos cable car up to the summit of Tahtalı Dağı (2,365 m), known in ancient times as Mount Olympos. The spectacular panoramic view across the mountains and sea is the perfect way to end our journey. Afterwards, a relaxed transfer brings us to Antalya, where we officially say goodbye in the early afternoon. (short transfers and walking)

Requirements

Each day offers the freedom to enjoy the hike at your own discretion. With no pressure to join, you can choose when to participate and fully appreciate the stunning landscapes. Day hikes range from a few kilometres to up to 15.3 km, with manageable ascents on varied terrain. You’ll only need a daypack for your essentials. Whether you’re out on the trail or relaxing at the lodge, your experience in Türkiye is shaped by your rhythm and preferences.

Accommodation
We’ll be staying in rented houses or small lodges, with twin rooms typically shared by two guests.
The accommodations are simple, local, and offer an authentic Turkish atmosphere.
Single rooms may be available on request for an additional fee.

Meals
Meals during the trip are simple, hearty, and portable. Most days, breakfast and dinner are provided by our local accommodations, giving you a taste of traditional Turkish hospitality. Lunches are typically packed and enjoyed outdoors along the way.
Please note: dinners eaten out at restaurants (for example, during our evening in Kaş and later in Simena/Kale) are not included in the trip price.
Vegetarian and lactose-free options are available. Please let us know any dietary needs in advance so we can plan accordingly.

Meeting Point
We’ll meet at Dalaman Airport to start our adventure together.
If you’re already in the area, we can also arrange a pickup from your hostel upon request.
Please pack light: due to limited space in the van, each person may bring only one piece of luggage, ideally a soft duffel bag or a backpack.
Hard-shell suitcases are not suitable for this trip. Keeping luggage compact ensures a smooth and comfortable journey for everyone.

Risks

This trip takes place in remote areas with limited infrastructure. While mobile coverage is partial, our guides carry a local SIM and may bring a satellite device for added safety. In the event of an issue, we can arrange pickup at the next accessible point by vehicle — though it may take some time to reach more remote sections.

All participants are required to have valid travel or medical insurance that includes coverage for trekking and evacuation. A packing list will be provided in advance to help you prepare appropriately for the terrain and conditions.

Please be aware that itineraries can shift due to weather, logistics, or local conditions. Flexibility is part of the journey — and part of the fun. A signed waiver is required before departure.
